Patients First – What this means for You
Bigger & Better Together

At Alabama Orthopaedic Surgeons, we know that orthopaedic care is synonymous with wellness. Our team—with over 60 years of combined experience—has seen firsthand how keeping Alabamians moving can also keep them happy, healthy, and living their best lives.

For these reasons, Alabama Orthopaedic Surgeons is proud to announce that its physicians will join OrthoSports Associates—two compassionate, local practices coming together to provide greater access and quality of care. Beginning on March 1, AOS physicians will join OrthoSports Associates to enhance an incredible network of orthopaedic and sports medicine professionals to serve the Birmingham area more effectively than ever before. While our name will be different, the level of care, compassion, and expertise you’ve come to expect from our team will remain—we’re committed to you every step of the way.

Because our patients mean the world to us, we’d like to take a minute to explore the tremendous advantages of this new arrangement and address any concerns our present and potential patients may have moving forward.

What will change?

While longtime patients can expect a few cosmetic changes here and there (new name, new logo, etc.), they can also rely on the same great physicians they’ve come to know and trust throughout the years.

For our existing patients, you can look forward to maintaining the same trusted relationships with physicians and staff. Both new and existing patients can also look forward to easier access to care at nearby locations in your community.

Together with OrthoSports’ eight locations, we look forward to serving those in greater Birmingham and at locations in St. Vincent’s Hospital, St. Vincent’s East, Princeton Medical Center, Citizens Hospital in Talladega, St. Vincent’s St. Clair, the Gardendale Medical Center, St. Vincent’s 119, and Hoover Medical Plaza in addition to our original locations in Blount, St. Clair, and Northside Medical.

How is this beneficial?

By combining our orthopaedic networks, we’ll be providing you and those in your community with easier, regular access to orthopaedic expertise. You’ll also have greater access to nearby physical therapy locations which should ease the burden of travel to and from appointments.

A larger provider network also allows for efficient internal referrals valuable referrals from one trusted physician to another. A streamlined patient process translates to a greater understanding of your orthopaedic issues from one location and physician to the next.

This web of informed care can only make things easier for our patients.

What’s next?

There’s more news to come in the following weeks and months, but the physicians of Alabama Orthopaedic Surgeons are excited to join OrthoSports Associates are excited to come together and to continue serving the great citizens of central Alabama who we’ve come to know so well over the years.

We are thrilled to expand our network of care, and we look forward to our future together—both as part of OrthoSports Associates and with our incredible patients who have trusted us with their orthopaedic care.
